Blogging for Books Newsletter

February 14, 2011

 Dear Bloggers,

Wow....three months after the launch of Blogging for Books we've added 5,000 bloggers to the program. Truly remarkable!

While we're excited about the number of bloggers involved in the program, Ashley and Chris have to be mindful of the fact that there is a limited amount of books we can offer each year through the Blogging for Books program. We've been shipping hundreds of books each week and at the rate we're going, we'll be out of books by June!

That said - we have a solution that will continue to provide serious Blogging for Books members with a large selection of titles. Sad to say...if you're requesting titles, posting inferior reviews and not making attempts to put your best review forward...there's a good chance your selection of titles will soon become less and less, or even none at all.

Moving forward Ashley and I will be making most titles available only to Blogging for Books bloggers that have a minimum overall blogger ranking of around 50 to 250. What does that mean for you? Well - if you have a high ranking, nothing changes!

FAQ's About the Minimum Blogger Ranking

Q: I just joined Blogging for can I get my score up so I can improve my book selection options?

A: You can review any WaterBrook Multnomah title at any time by logging in, clicking on "post a review" in the top right corner and then entering the 13-digit ISBN (no dashes or spaces). If you're not happy with your selection, you can post a review for any WaterBrook Multnomah title you already own and work on getting that review ranked.

Q: How do I know which titles are available and what the minimum blogger ranking is?

A: We're currently working on creating a page that displays all the available titles and the minimum blogger ranking required in order to qualify to request certain books. We hope to have this feature launched sometime later this Spring or early Summer. Until then, it's best to work towards a minimum score of 250 in order to ensure the largest possible title selection.

Q: How can I tell what my score is?

A: The easiest way is to click on the "Browse reviews by Blogger" button on the right side of the Blogging for Books home page. From there, search for yourself and you should see a list of your reviews. Each review has an "overall score" attributed to it. Add up all your overall scores to get your total score. I know this is kind of a hassle. That said - we're working towards updating your "manage account" page so it includes your overall blogger score.

We want you to know that we value you as a Blogging for Books member. We're grateful for your partnership and all the effort you put forth to post quality, honest reviews.

Have a great month of blogging and reading!
