The Night Watchman
"Mynheir's real-life experience shines through in his creation of new hero Ray Quinn–a hard-edged, never-say-die detective with leathery wit, unable–or unwilling–to quite give up on life. The Night Watchman is an intense read you won't put down until the last page."

Letting Our Light Shine

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matt. 5:16)

I know how important a great cover is to the sale of my book. I know that a compelling summary on the back of the book can draw a reader who picks it up off the shelf, turns it over and reads what the story is about. But the great cover and compelling blurb only tell so much. It's when the reader takes it home and turns to page one that the real conversation begins.

As God writes our story, we have to be more than a great cover and a small blurb that only highlights our best parts. To truly impact our world, we have to open up and show what's on the pages of our lives. That's what living for Jesus is all about. Letting our light shine before men. Reviews can be harsh. But when you find that one reader who really gets what you're trying to say, that one person who needs the truth you have to offer, it's worth the pain, fear and rejection.

Life is truly about what happens between a great cover and summary. The book of you happens on the page. Share it and see what God can do through your story.

Book Review: "The Scent of Cherry Blossoms" by Cindy Woodsmall
by Amanda Normand

I've never read a novel on the Amish before, so I was eager to read "The Scent of Cherry Blossoms" by Cindy Woodsmall. And I was not disappointed! This was a great book, and I didn't want to put it down. Even though this is the first book I've read about the Amish, I knew immediately that it is unique from other Amish-themed books because it involves the Old Order Mennonites as well. I was homeschooled for many years, and as a young child many of my textbooks were from a Mennonite curriculum called Rod and Staff. I had the opportunity last year to visit Pennsylvania Dutch country in Lancaster County, PA - so all those things made this book so enjoyable for me. [Read On]
