In this update: Clarification on BFB contest rules.

Blogging for Books Newsletter

June 3, 2011

Dear *|FNAME|*,

We wanted to take a minute to clarify one of the rules as it pertains to the prizes we award each month.

Each month we award a prize to one blogger who has the overall highest ranked review.

It does not matter when the review was posted...the only thing that matters is how many times that review was ranked within the contest time frame.

In other words, let's say you posted a review in February, had two people rank it in February, 10 in March, 5 in April and 300 in May. And during the month of May, your review had the highest ranking...you would win.

That said, if in the month of June that same review had the highest review ranking again, you would not be eligible to win another monthly prize. Only one prize is awarded per review with the exception of our annual awards that are given out.

We will be updating our formal contest rules to reflect this moving forward.

We apologize if our contest rules lacked clarity or caused any confusion. Our intention in giving away monthly prizes is to award a blogger for engaging readers with their review over a specific period of time. We recognize that posting a review during a specific time frame can be challenging. We're not interested in when the review was posted...we're interested in the level of engagement that you're able to create over a specific period of time.
